AlphaTheta Makes Its Virtual Debut at Virtual Market 2026 Summer

AlphaTheta Corporation, a leading company in DJ equipment and music technology, will exhibit for the first time at Virtual Market 2026 Summer. For this debut, AlphaTheta will bring an official 3D model of its professional all-in-one DJ system, the XDJ-AZ, into VR, developed in collaboration with DJs who actively perform in virtual spaces.

Background of the Exhibition

AlphaTheta, a leading company in DJ equipment and music technology, has long supported the growth of DJ culture through its participation in music festivals and exhibitions around the world.

In recent years, a distinctive DJ scene has taken shape on social VR platforms such as VRChat, where users gather as avatars to experience music, performance, and DJ culture in new ways. Inspired by this growing movement, AlphaTheta has decided to make its first appearance at Virtual Market, one of the world’s largest VRChat-based exhibition events, to support the continued growth of the virtual DJ scene and share the appeal of DJing with an even wider audience.

Through this first exhibition in the virtual space, AlphaTheta will bring the excitement of owning, exploring, and experiencing DJ equipment to visitors, while contributing to the further evolution of DJ culture across both physical and virtual spaces.

Experience the Professional XDJ-AZ DJ System Up Close in Virtual Space, Created Through Collaboration with DJs Active in VR

Ahead of this exhibition, AlphaTheta held a community roundtable with 14 DJs active in VRChat: 3Marco, aromabl4ck, ayafmy, dj_tsumugi, Fradol, Jentagawa, KANISAN14, Kohadachan, Mazzn1987, Q330, sekizu1, SHIRIA_JP, xiriya39, and 魔いたけ (Maitake).

During the roundtable, AlphaTheta spoke directly with members of the VR DJ scene about topics such as the kind of DJ equipment 3D model they would truly want, what types of interactive features should be included, what they expect from the exhibition booth, what kinds of experiences they would find enjoyable inside the booth, and what inspired them to start DJing in VRChat.

Based on feedback from these VR DJs, an official AlphaTheta 3D model was developed. The model faithfully recreates the professional all-in-one DJ system XDJ-AZ and will be exhibited inside AlphaTheta’s booth in Parareal Broadway, one of the corporate exhibition venues at Virtual Market 2026 Summer.

Visitors will be able to stand in front of the DJ setup as if they were inside a club DJ booth, taking a close look at the detailed recreation of DJ equipment such as the jog wheels and mixer. The model also includes interactive features designed to let even first-time users experience the fun of DJing, such as scratch sounds that play when touching the jog wheel and the ability to trigger the familiar reggae horn sound often used by DJs.

The booth will also feature virtual-only effects, including DJ equipment lighting that responds in sync with the background music playing in the venue.

Kohada

Incorporating user feedback into product development may sound like a natural process, but in reality, I believe it is extremely difficult to achieve. That is why I felt this initiative itself, creating a 3D item while involving users directly, was very meaningful.

​During the roundtable, many participants did not simply express their own requests or preferences. Instead, they shared their thoughts from the perspective of how this initiative could succeed. I felt that there was a shared desire among both individuals and companies to help grow the still-developing enjoyment and community of VR together.

​While unofficial assets inspired by DJ equipment already exist, I believe there is special significance in this model being released officially. I hope people who regularly use AlphaTheta products, as well as those who are familiar with DJ equipment, will place it in VR worlds or use it as part of event space production. For those who admire real-world DJ culture, I believe it can also become an opportunity to experience that atmosphere within VR.

I felt that AlphaTheta’s approach was very user-friendly, as they incorporated feedback from DJs, including myself, who have been active in VRChat for many years.

​This DJ equipment 3D model can of course be used in clubs and events, but I would also be happy if people who are not yet familiar with DJing use it like an interior item in their own room, and if that becomes an entry point that sparks their interest in actually trying DJing.
